I teach middle school social studies. This summer I'm on a committee reviewing our standardized test called the SOL. It is a lot of hard work and is very hard to understand the amount of detail, levels and information involved in doing this and creating and verifying what is on this test. I just wish that other teachers, parents and students could see the amount of work we are doing and stop complaining about the SOL test. I have a much better appreciation of the detail that goes into the test making process, I just wish that everyone did.
